• Jordanian pilot project

- A training course is planned to be organized until March 2015 by the construction contractor on the Operation and Maintenance (O&M) of the Wastewater Treatment Plantfor the Public Security Directorate (PSD)staff.

- The handing over of the Wastewater Treatment Plant to the Public Security Directorate is also plannedin March.

- The impact mission regarding the safe use of treated wastewater at the Public Security Directorate (PSD) is planned to be finalised until March 2015

- The on-site wastewater treatment plant at the PSD started its operation in June 2014 and after the installation of a tertiary treatment system, 50-60 cubic meter of treated effluent are produced daily to irrigate the compound’s landscaping area. MIRA, a Jordanian consulting company in the field of irrigated agriculture, was appointed by the GIZ to carry out a reuse mission on the economic and environmental impacts of the reuse activities at the PSD. To this end, water and soil samples were taken in October, November and December 2014 and additional samples will be taken in January 2015. The study will be finalized by the end of January 2015.
